The Script – For The First Time
A song about love, an amazing one at that. I find this song very emotional, as though the writer has written it from the heart, I get a heartbroken feeling from this song.
Hallelujah – Jeff Buckley
I noticed that a couple of people had chosen this one by other artists, personally my favourite is Jeff Buckley’s version and this is my all time favourite song. Not only is the song itself nothing short of beautiful, Buckley sings it with such a powerful passion, giving the song a greater elegance.
Hey Jude – The Beatles
One of the most mainstream Beatles songs, but this is undoubtedly my favourite. It is one of those songs where you hear it and you just sing the words at the top of your voice. It really is a feel good song, and I always love to listen to it whenever.
In 5 Years Time – Noah and the Whale
Noah and the Whale are one of my favourite bands, and this has to be my favourite song by them. Although it seems very happy and cheery, and in a sense it is, the lyrics themselves are all about a broken heart, and swearing you will always love someone, even though he knows it will be hard. I listen to this song if I ever feel down, it perks me up and I feel as though I can relate to what the lyrics are saying.
Run – Snow Patrol
This is an inspirational song, which was covered by Leona Lewis, but I still much prefer the original version. The song is about finding the light at the end of the tunnel, which is why it inspires me. You always have to look for the good things in life, even if things are bad.
