Made in Husthwaite
'A place where individuality is celebrated' said Paul in his summing-up of last June's event. And it was Andrew's individuality combined with that of many others which led to the amazing display that was 'Made in Husthwaite'.
Like all villages in the past, Husthwaite had its share of skilled craftsmen - carpenters and cobblers, bakers and blacksmiths as well as William Peckitt, the man responsible for the resurrection of the English glass-painting tradition that had once flourished in medieval York and elsewhere.
Such skills are not gone! The many people who flocked to the Village Hall last June were truly amazed at what ordinary people in this extraordinary village could and did make with such consumate skill. Wilf and Trevor with their woodworking skills, Andy and Angie with the fruits of their photographic skills, Brenda's energy and determination in keeping alive our historical memories - and so the list goes on.
However, see for yourself, here in our Gallery, photographs which give at least some idea of the scope of the displays and the expertise, care and dedication of the people behind them.
