Husthwaite People

the castWilliam Peckitt is perhaps Husthwaites most famous inhabitant. He was born in Husthwaite, moved to York in 1751 and is remembered for reviving the art of stained glass making in Britain. There is a plaque deducated to him outside St. Nicholas Church.

However, this page is not about the past but about the present inhabitants of Husthwaite! Last years 'Made in Husthwaite' event gave a platform for us to display our skills and collections. The results were outstanding.

This page hopes to allow a facility for not only those villagers who exhibited but also to those who have talents that cannot easily be displayed on a trestle table.

The people opposite are only a start, we will grow it gradually. If you are not there then you may be soon!!
